As a public service, Susquenango conducts safe boating courses several times in the fall and spring of each year at the Johnson City High School. Courses are announced in the local news media, social networks, schools and on this website. Information may also be obtained by calling (607)797-7391 Susquenango members are both power and sail enthusiasts and are involved in all aspects of boating and/or social endeavors. Our knowledgeable members are volunteer teachers of our numerous boating courses. Squadron members have the option of taking advanced piloting and navigation courses and ancillary courses in boating. There are 11 advanced and related boating courses available free to members. There are also numerous learning guides of marine related topics. Squadron members enjoy a full schedule of social events throughout the year, including rendezvous, group outings, conventions and holiday get-to-gethers. The squadron also issues a monthly newsletter that keeps members informed of upcoming events and educational opportunities. Our
squadron name was taken from the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers that are
central to the New York southern tier valley that make |
